I am only one day into my WP journey but have bought a template that came with two sidebars and a number of widgets eg search, archives, recent posts, categories, blogroll, meta, etc. I want to remove a few and change the position of others but can’t see them in the admin panel, even though all are “live” online eg https://empowered-lives.com/blog/

In fact, the admin panel only refers to the left sidebar and not the right one, and all widgets are shown as available and unused rather than six of them used (3 left and 3 right).

If I reset them all with the Widgets Reset plugin mentioned in another post, will I be able to get back the versions I bought in the template (with special icons, etc)?

[Have reposted here as the original topic was marked “resolved”].

Could be a theme that has ONE widgetized sidebar, but the other is not widgetized.

See if this helps you understand:

Thank you, Michael. That topic did help.

The theme should have both widgetised: https://www.templatemonster.com/wordpress-themes/23051.html

    “This theme is widgetized”

The extremely short “Help” file that came with the template says: “Note that our WordPress Themes are developed for WordPress 2.0.1. We recommend you to upgrade to version 2.0.1 or higher to use our templates.”

I’ve gone back to the vendor to ask if there is anything that I need to do to make this template work in v2.7.1 – and to provide some user notes when they sell things!

That sales page also says it works in WordPress 2.7, so I’m hoping it should have been okay out of the box.

I have a widget in the sidebar and I haven’t been able to get rid out it. Any suggestions. I also don’t have an appearance tab or a widget tab. Take a look:
