    Hello!

    So I’ve been having issues with this website and hopefully someone can help!

    SO I have reason to believe that my website must be hosted by two different servers or something – is that something that can happen? So, randomly, my site will revert to an old version vs the current version. I call the old version “2013 site” and the current version “2017 site.” It occurs randomly where the site switches from 2013 to 2017.

    If I want to access the 2013 site, I login via wordpress.com.
    In order for me to access the 2017 site, I do usiguci.org/wp-login. However, I cannot login to the 2017 site if I were to pull up the site and it shows the 2013 site. If my site is currently running “2013 site,” typing in usiguci.org/wp-login will say that nothing was found at that location.

    Therefore, I believe that the 2013 version is hosted by wordpress.com, and the 2017 version is just self-hosted. Is this something that can happen? And how do I fix that? Thanks!

    nslookup usiguci.org
    Server:		208.67.222.222
    Address:	208.67.222.222#53

    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name:	usiguci.org
    Address: 192.0.78.25
    Name:	usiguci.org

    Name:	usiguci.org
    Address: 2607:f1c0:100f:f000::2a6

    Those IP addresses resolve to wordpress.com

    @carrot27,

    No, what you described is not possible. What Steve said is your domain’s DNS is pointing to wordpress.com. What he means is your site is hosted by wordpress.com instead of self hosting. If you want to point your domain to a different host, you would have to go to your domain registrar and change the DNS to your host’s DNS. Your host will have the DNS for you to use in your host’s admin page or setup page.

    What you describing could happened if your browser is serving some old cache to you.

    Hope it help.

    OK, here’s the issue — you’re using the wrong name servers:

    Name Server: NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    Name Server: NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    Name Server: NS-US.1AND1-DNS.COM
    Name Server: NS-US.1AND1-DNS.US
    Name Server: NS-US.1AND1-DNS.ORG
    Name Server: NS-US.1AND1-DNS.DE

    Edit your domain and remove the wordpress.com domain servers. The old and new DNS are fighing.

    So, I currently have 1&1 hosting the usig domain as an external domain, and then the current server is wordpress.com. I pay for the domain through wordpress.com though, so would it be a problem if I removed the wordpress.com name server? And do I remove both (NS1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com)?

    Thank you so much!!

    Remove both wordpress.com name servers. Eventually, you may want to transfer the domain to another registrar, but that’s not necessary to solve this problem.

    Thank you! I did this and it solved the problem! (I think, I haven’t seen the other website in the past day!)

    Why would you recommend transferring the domain to another registrar?

    I keep all my domains with one registrar. It makes it easy to keep track of what’s expiring. If this is your only domain, it probably doesn’t matter.
