    Hello!

I installed SG Optimizer since I wanted to upgrade to PHP 7.1. I started compatibility check and it worked good. After that, I accidentally pressed on compatibility button once again and since it takes too long, I tried to stop it by closing browser. Now when I want to see the page, I get some error (when I open the link it only downloads some file..) I can’t access my website any longer. Can you, please, help me recover my website. Everything was working perfect before I took the action described.

You can test it by yourselves, just click on the link.

    Thank you!

That domain is not pointed to SiteGround thus the IP change has led to rendering your site blank because your current hosting provider has set PHP in a different way. Please, contact your hosting support for additional assistance!

As an immediate advice, I would recommend that you open your .htaccess file and remove this line:

    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php71 .php .php5 .php4 .php3

Thank you for reply. Do you believe there are any other options? We even tried to delete SG plugin from hosting page, but nothing changed. We also cannot find any .htaccess file. What folder is this file located?

    Thanks!

    Hello!

I’m really glad it worked for you, Simon! I didn’t manage to solve it. I’m also wondering why is this subject marked as “resolved”. I never said “it’s working, thank you!”.
