my website is blank with fatal problems after wordpress update 5.1

    Hello all,

    I have a huge problem. after I updated the wordpress to version 5.1, my website went down, all styles went very bad, with a lot of blank areas!!!!!!!!!!!!

    please help me on what to do to get things back.
    also how can I get back the old version that I had.

    this is crucial, please what steps should I do to restore things back

    Hello Sarah,

    It seems you are using some paid theme called “thegem”, I would suggest you reach them out via their Support forum.

    Looking at theme compatibility it says it is compatible till 5.0.X so maybe it can be a compatibility issue.

    Hope you have a backup so if required you can restore.

    yes, I’m using a paid theme.
    can I downgrade the wordpress version to what I had before updating.!

    Hello Sarah,

    I would recommend you to approach theme support so they can solve the problem for you.

    Further, there is one plugin which downgrades the version, but before using, I would suggest taking a complete backup of source code and database.

    however, I use other plugins that are not compatible with the latest version of wordpress!! so I thought the best possible solution is to downgrade wordpress until these plugins are updated to be compatible with the latest version. right?

    Yes, that’s correct.

    It is important that the Plugins and Theme used should be compatible with WordPress Version we are using.
