My website got hacked! Help!

  • My website was hacked.

    I got the below message in the homepage

    Anybody knows how to resolve the problem. I just setup my blog 1 week ago. I am still very new to wordpress and I don’t know why my website got hacked.

    Anyone please help.

  • That’s some add instead of your website! So, did you install a 2.5.1 a week ago and it was all freshly downloaded from this very website? I hope if that’s the case that you’re on a shared server.

    In any case, there is not too much that you can do. If the website in your profile is the one, it seems like WP got entirely swept and replaced. Can you FTP to your server and see if there’s anything there? What about the tables that you can access with your Control Panel / PHPmyAdmin / something like that?

    Searching here in the forums for “hacked” might be a good place to start.

    the same hackers got to one of the sites i help maintain.

    the corruption was in the wp-cache config file.

    delete it and get a security scanning plugin.
