Hi @thiayo,
Thank you for your interest with Jetpack Boost and your report.
Both plugins offer options to turn specific optimizations on and off, and some of the same optimizations are available in both plugins. We don’t recommend having the same optimization enabled in both plugins, as it is unlikely to benefit your site and may cause unexpected issues as you have encountered
For example, I recommend against using Jetpack Boost’s “Defer Non-Essential Javascript” option at the same time as using Autoptimize’s “Optimize JavaScript Code?” option (in the “JS, CSS, HTML” tab under the “JavaScript Options”.
Additionally Autoptimize offers 2 options to optimize CSS, one is called “Optimize CSS Code?” in the “JS, CSS, HTML” tab under the “CSS Options” as well as its own “Critical CSS” solution under the tab of the same name. If you are using any of these 2 options from the Autoptimize plugin, again I would recommend against using the “Jetpack Boost’s “Optimize CSS Loading” option at the same time.
Autoptimize also includes many customizable options, so there may be some combination of settings which can make it incompatible with Jetpack Boost.
If you find that any of Jetpack Boost’s optimizations cause problems on your site when run alongside Autoptimize, it should be safe to turn them off and return your site to its previous state.
Please let us know if you run into any trouble running Jetpack Boost without Autoptimize, and we’ll do our best to help you out.`
Best,
DavidOk
Autoptimize is not running , only jetpack boost is activated but their is an error critical css.Thank you for your reply. Would you have some more details on the error itself so we can try to identify the cause of the problem?
it was error http 503 while communicating with server. For the second time it was error while genereting a critical css of an article.
ThanksThis is the last error message i noticed:
An error occurred while sending Critical CSS generation results to the server: HTTP 500 error received while communicating with the server.
ThanksHi @thiayo,
Thank you for the extra information. Would you please be able to send us the details of your site setup such as the theme you are using and the plugins you have installed and activated. It will allow us to try replicating your environment and trying to identify the root of the issues.
Best,
DavidHi
I use the kreeti theme with these plugins activated:
Jetpack premium, yoast seo,wp super cache, Relly simple ssl, askimet, MC4WP: mailchimp, imageMagick, One clic demo import, php compatibility checker, site kit by google, wp post author.
And of course jetpack boost.
That’s all
ThanksHi
I update jetpack boost to 1.0.2 after trying generating critical css again i got 2 errors :
Failed to verify page at https://…………. ?jb-generate-critical-css=……..
And Timeout while reading https://………….?jb-generate-critical-css=……..
ThanksHi @thiayo,
Thank you for the additional report. Unfortunately the links you have posted cannot be seen on this forum. Would you be able to take a screen capture of the errors and share it via a service such as https://cloudup.com/ or https://imgshare.io/?
Thanks
Hi
This is the link where i store the scrennshot

ThanksHi @thiayo – can you let us know which pages exactly the issue is happening on?
If you want to remove the domain – feel free to do so, but the path after the domain might help us solve the issue.
Hi
this is path after the domain: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack-boost#
ThanksHi
sorry, this is the right answer.
On the screenshot you can see the wall path. But the path after the is:
index.php/confinement-de-31-personnes-apres-la-decouverte-du-9eme-cas-de-covid-19-en-mauritanie/1770/?jb-generate-critical-css=065439c3c5
ThanksHi @thiayo,
Thanks for your response, and apologies for our delayed response.
In the above set of images and posts, there are three different error messages mentioned. Each have a different meaning:
Timeout while reading https://………….?jb-generate-critical-css=……..
This error indicates that Jetpack Boost was unable to load the given URL within 60 seconds, and so gave up waiting.
When you see this error, you can try to visit the specified URL to see if the page loads successfully, or if it takes a long time.
Failed to verify page at https://…………. ?jb-generate-critical-css=……..
This error indicates that Jetpack Boost either received a blank page, or the wrong page while trying to load the specified URL. That can happen if the URL timed out (as above), if there was an error while rendering the page, or if the URL redirects to a different place.
When you see this error, you can try to visit the specified URL to see if it redirects anywhere, or if any content loads successfully.
(from your screenshot):
HTTP 500 error received while communicating with the serverThis error indicates that your server hit an error while trying to load the specified URL. The error may be logged in your server’s logs – which your hosting provider may offer you through their web portal, cpanel, or SSH interfaces. If you are unsure where to look for your webserver logs, please contact your hosting provider for help getting information about a “500 error”.
In all three cases, Jetpack Boost is having trouble loading the specified URL in order to generate Critical CSS for them. The path you mentioned in your latest reply – “index.php/confinement-de-31-personnes-apres-la-decouverte-du-9eme-cas-de-covid-19-en-mauritanie/1770/?jb-generate-critical-css=065439c3c5” does not look like a path generated by a plugin, and it doesn’t look like it should redirect to another URL.
Can you visit that page on your site, and check how long it takes to load, and if any errors occur while trying to load it? Is there anything unusual about the page?
If you find the specified URL loads quickly and without issue, it is also worth trying it in “incognito” / “private browsing” mode to view the page as logged out users without the benefit of cached data see the page. You can find instructions for using incognito / private mode in most browsers here: https://www.howtogeek.com/269265/how-to-enable-private-browsing-on-any-web-browser/
Hi
The URL takes too long to load in private browsing but i made enhancements. Now when i try to optimze the critical css i get this:
5 files generated just now. Regenerate
Thanks
