My webmentions to other blogs show as “anonymous”

    You can see an example here. It’s happened elsewhere too so I assume this somehow is a problem on my end, the sending end. Ideas?

    FWIW, some webmentions I receive also show up this way, so at least I know it’s not just me.

    Will explore it. Suggests it is not getting your author information from your site. Will have to do some testing.

    Does outgoing webmention depend upon microformats for author info or does it get that from WP post data? Was wondering if not having any visible author text in my posts, since who else would they be by, is causing this.

    It depends on what the other site is using… WordPress to WordPress had an issue fixed in 5.1.5

    I seem to be on 5.1.6 now and incoming webmentions from other WP sites no longer show as anonymous, and I checked one of my webmentions sent to another WP site and it now has my name instead of anonymous.

    Many of the webmentions I’ve received recently have shown as from Anonymous (including one from Bix) and I have been manually correcting them. I’m on version 5.1.9. Most recent affected comment is from 11/18, earliest one I see that I didn’t fix is from 8/20.
