• Ive read another read with various solutions from clearing the cache/cookies to deleting the wpadmin folder and none of them have worked!

Is this a known bug that will be fixed in the next release?

IS there any official word on this? Its getting extremely irritating to constantly post in HTML mode…

    I’ve tried:

    -Disabling all plugins
    -Disabling javascript
    -Clearing cache (ctrl+f4)
-Deleting wp admin and wp includes, replacing them
    -Installing WP 2.5 RC1 build
-Using IE (gives a yellow icon error)

    Nothing works…

Are you sure you have “Use the Visual Editor” checked in your user profile?

Very sure, tried turning it on and off several times.

This is the error Firebug reports:

    tinyMCE is not defined
    go(“content”)editor.js (line 73)
    onclick(click clientX=0, clientY=0)post-new.php (line 1)
    [Break on this error] var ed = tinyMCE.get(id);

It then references this file: https://www.mysite.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.2.3

Ive tried replacing the whole tinyMCE folder with a fresh one…

Anyone have any idea about this error?

    – Installing WP 2.5 RC1 build

Why the hell would you do this, instead of installing the final version? Do the world a favour, download a fresh copy of wordpress and upload all the files again.

RC means ‘release candidate’ – it comes before the actual release which is now posted on the website.

The main thread suggested installing 2 folders from the RC1 build, wp includes and wp admin. Tried that and didnt work, exact same error. IVe reverted back to the final 2.5 folders.

I didnt install the entire build.

So no one knows how to fix this problem? I’ve got the exact error code here.

I really want to avoid doing a fresh install…

    duplicate your db.
    download wp 2.5 fresh install
install in a new folder and use the wp-config.php file linking to the duplicate db.
see if you have the same problem.
if you don’t check to see if your original folder is using any .htaccess files. Disable them and see if you have the problem.
If it doesn’t have the problem after the htaccess files are disabled, you may want to edit the file to have not as tight settings.

Ok, I did what you said. Did a fresh WP install and I could finally click the visual button tab.

After I was done linking my database, copying plugins and my theme over to the new install… I could no longer press the visual button!

What do you think it could be? I copied the bare minimum over, my theme and very few plugins…none of which are activated.

If I try switching back to the default theme, the error is still there.
