• So I want to revisionize this post but when I clicked to Revisionize, I noticed that it created a different URL when it duplicated. I think the different URL is my original URL which I had recently redirected.

I want to know what will happen when I update/overwrite it.
Will it rewrite to the original URL?
Or to my latest current one?

So, let’s say I created the post as URL – XYZ???
and I recently updated the post and redirected it to a new URL XYZ.
Right now, when I selected the revisionize option, the URL shows up as XYZ???.
What i want to know is when it updates and overwrites, will the old redirect still work OK?

    thank you!

  • Hi Jinjoo,

It seems the developer is not particularly responsive in the forums here, so I’ll jump in and see if I can help out.

When you publish the revision, it’s supposed to keep the original URL (it should replace the draft’s temporary URL with the original post’s URL).

But while you’re editing the draft, it will show a different URL for the draft.

Have you actually published a revision yet? If so, did it correctly keep the old URL? Or did it actually change the URL?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Oh wow – thank you soo much for answering this question Andrew!!
Yes, you are right. It just showed a different URL during the draft but it did actually post with the correct/old URL when I published it.

thank you again for the follow-up. you are the best.

    Excellent!

(Not sure if you can do this as the original poster, but if you can, please mark this as “Solved.”)
