According to the hierarchy document, front-page.php is supposed to take priority over home.php and index.php

Do you have a cache plugin in place? You may be looking at cached content. You might also look at your site from an incognito window to make sure you are not looking at browser cached content.

Just suggestions, not really sure why your front-page.php does not take precedence in this scenario.

Under settings->reading, set your home page to a page rather than the list of posts.

Finally it was fixed going to settings->reading and selecting the ‘Your latest posts’ option.

I appreciate your help ??
