my theme auto will update ? and i loose i changes ?

    hi,
    i would like to know if my theme will be auto update and i loose all changes.

    i have been reading and i have saw a warning about that, and advising the to use Child theme .

    is that correct ?

    If you modified your theme (i.e., modified FILES like .css and .php) in the theme directory, then yes, those mods will be gone when the theme updates. If you make changes via the customizer or a theme options panel, those changes are in the database and will not be affected by a theme update.

    Themes generally do not auto-update but you will be notified if updates are available for your theme(s).

    If you do need to modify theme FILES, then a child theme is the way to go.
