• Hello,

When I use the new Gutenberg editor and want to input e.g. “1. step is to …” into a new paragraph, it is always converted automatically into an Ordered List block.

When I try to change it manually to a simple paragraph, it removes the “1.” from the beginning. But when I try to add it back to the beginning of the paragraph, it is converted again into an Ordered List block.

Is there a way to disable this auto-converting? I need a simple paragraph starting with “1. step is to …”.

  • I have the same issue and can’t find a way to avoid this annoying behavior

Even trying it on the classic editor because it would always do it to me unless I started a new block??? I think it’s inherited in both editors, please let me know if you find a solution. With Gutenberg it’s easier to add a new block though
