We appreciate your patience with this Major update. Unfortunately, we pushed Feed Them Social version 4.0.0 with a bug that affects websites running PHP less than 7.0. The update may have caused a Fatal Error making your site inaccessible. You must manually delete the plugin by going through your FTP to fix this issue.

    1. Log in to an FTP.
    2. Go to the root folder of your WordPress install and click through the folders wp-content > plugins
    3. Delete the folder “feed-them-social”
    4. Follow the instructions for re-installing the plugin using the Installing and Activating the Plugin Documentation.

You should now be able to access your siteWe sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you!

To use the latest version of Feed Them Social, you must upgrade your website PHP to at least version 7.0. You should contact your hosting provider to ask for an upgrade if you need help.

You must manually update any of our paid extensions if you own one. So if you have a paid extension that needs to be updated, go to the Downloads Tab of the My Account page on slickremix.com and download your paid extensions.

After downloading the extension(s) .zip go to your WordPress install and upload the extensions on the Plugins > Add New menu option. You can go ahead and drag the new zip to the upload area and click Install Now. You can overwrite the previous version if the prompt asks this of you.

The new version 4.0.0 and beyond now includes saving shortcode options! This requires you to Convert Old Shortcodes.

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you need any more help. We are always happy to help!

Im running PHP version PHP (7.4.33), and the update still crashes the admin side of word press.

I ended up downloading the 3.0.1 release from github and installing that version, and it works again. There are no errors in the error log regarding FTS, only three entries:

[04-Mar-2023 04:11:51 UTC] FTS vs test check
    [04-Mar-2023 04:11:51 UTC] FTS did_upgrade
[04-Mar-2023 04:11:51 UTC] FTS Upgrade complete

There is some weird icon stuff going on though : https://winnerschapel-rcc.com/facebook-live/

I’m not sure if I should clear the data and uninstall the plugin then install the new one and set it all up again… very strange.

Try emptying your cache or browser cache, too.

Be sure to test 4.0.3. If you get a Fatal error again and can share the error.log message that would be helpful too. And yes for sure going back to 3.0.1 or 3.0.2 will work too until you have time to get the latest version working. When it is working it’s way better and easier to make changes.

It would be worth making sure you have the plugin fully deleted from the plugins folder, and if using any downloaded zips from github that you change the name of the zips folder from feed-them-social-master to feed-them-social before re-zipping and adding to your WordPress.

I’m not sure how to clear the stored data without using SQL directly. I can delete the plugin folder all day long, but installing the 4.0.3 kills WordPress admin and the public page that uses FTS to serve the Facebook feed. is it an incompatibility with data storage schemas?

The strange display error is definitely an FTS CSS issue.
