• So I’m not really sure what the hell happened. I updated a bunch of plugins today, but it seems like one of them, or something else altogether, reverted pages all the way back to how they were months ago.

Has this happened to anyone? Is there any specific way to fix it? I mean, the company logo isn’t even there any more. The parallax slider isn’t working. It’s all gone to hell.

    Any info would be great.

    Sorry, here’s the site: https://www.growinggreat.org

Just checked in my GoDaddy file manager, and it seems like the company logo was just deleted.

I actually think it has something to do with the permalinks when I deleted the Ready! Ecommerce plugin. I was just testing stuff on it, never deployed it, but I believe that’s what messed a lot of things up.

Is there a way to revert back to previous permalink settings?

    Help please!

Did you upgrade your theme? If there were custom changes its possible upgrading theme deleted them by overwriting old files with new files.

It’s also possible that some plugin broke everything. This is a perfect example of why we do client backups every day, and recommend doing it to everyone you don’t want to lose it when something happens.

Lastly, have you checked with godaddy to make sure they did not recover your website from an older backup? It’s a long shot, but I’ve seen it happen with a host restoring website from an old backup for no reason.

If you don’t have a backup of the website, ask Godaddy to see if they have anything recent that you can use to recover your website.

Thank you so much for replying!

It looks like what happened is that one of the admins deleted everyone from the users group, including me as admin, and all the content went to the trash.

Luckily it wasn’t something as intensive as needing GoDaddy, but you’re right. How do you backup the site? Do you do in via GoDaddy or is that also a plugin?

    Thanks!

Check with Godaddy, they might have some sort of website backup product. You can also do it with a plugin like BackWPup.

Make sure to tell everyone when they delete users, WP will ask you if you want to delete content or re-assign to another user. You simply select another user and it all stays published without being deleted.
