• It started last week but my site is really really slow. Especially the admin panel of word press. Even editing a post is taking a long time to process. It was definitely not happening last week. Any advice?

Wow, GT Metrix took 13.53s to load your homepage.

Check out your report and try following some of the suggestions they have – I would definitely start with scaling your images. For example, you have images that are originally 728×392 but being loaded into an area that is 286×154. The browser is still loading the larger images and then resizing them. I guaruntee that will help a lot. Also, look into some caching plugins such as W3 Total Cache, Quick Cache, WP Fastest Cache – Things like GZip Compression, minifying css and js can also help.

I saw that and I am going to begin resizing those photos.

Although, should this affect the Admin panel issues? I was contemplating on upgrading my word press to see if this would help but would like to avoid jumping all the way to 3.9

I also attempted to deactivate all plug ins, this did not have a positive affect. Also noticed that even after deactivating all of the plug ins and linking Jetpack back up to my site, it was very very very slow…

Any other ideas for admin panel issues?

Having the same issue. It’s not just the web page, but the wp-admin too, and it is optimized and has small graphics. Are you by any chance using a 1&1 server?

Using https://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ I can see that your site as well as mine are hung up in the Server Wait Time.

    Yes I am using 1and1.

I just got off of a call with 1and1 and they had to ‘make a change’ on their end to fix it. They stated 30min – 1hr wait time on improvement. Give em a call.

A lot of good suggestion here though folks. Awesome support system!

Looks like a lot of users are having connection issues with 1&1 at the moment. As much as I’d love to help troubleshoot with you, I have a feeling this is just a server issue. I would contact them and try to get more information.

I wanted to give this thread a heads up on 1and1, they have not fixed the issue…I will have to call them back again tomorrow.

I’m having the same issues on my site as well. Even our Xenforo forum is affected as well. It’s taking 27.65 secs to load my site. Called 1&1 and they said it was a “compatibility issue.” They didn’t elaborate. They also blamed it on the plugins so I uninstalled all of them. No luck.

I definitely think 1&1 is having issues. They’re getting a lot of complaints on their Facebook page.

Still having the same problem here too. I’ve called in to 1&1 three times and get the run around from “they are monitoring the server and know of a problem” to “I need to upgrade packages”. ?? When you call back (maronesj) have them give you the call/ticket number so we can start referencing each other’s in communication with 1&1. My ticket # is 448398266.

@zacqua10 & @drasmussen: It is considered impolite to interrupt another poster’s ongoing thread unless you are posting a solution or suggestion. As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic.

I don’t mind their feedback on the post. I think it’s good to collaborate on status updates for hosting issues…when having a wordpress site…who knows, maybe one of us will still have WordPress issues after 1and1 get’s their heads out of their culos.

Still issues for me this morning. Total bummer because I have an advertiser conisdering ad space for the first time and this happens….

These forums have guidelines. Please read them. As you will see, one of these guidelines – entitled Where to Post – specifically states:

Unless you are using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster, do not post in someone else’s thread. Start your own topic.

    Please abide by this.

I also called 1&1 and they confirmed that there is a known issue on some WP sites served my some of their shared hosts. The problem started around 08JUN14.

I complained and they gave me a free month of service. Not exactly what I was looking for but, hey, I’ll take it.
