    Hello all.
Just got my funny images and video site running a week ago.
    Funny Fail Blog – https://funnyfailblog.com

If you were to search google for the following, this is how im ranked:

    Funny Fail: 12th website
    Funny Fail Blog: 4th website

My traffic had received about 140 hits the first week, with only about 45 from google search.

I know im doing SEO perfect, and im getting decent rank in google for just starting, why such little traffic? how much traffic were you getting from google week 1?

    1) how does your comment help me at all?
    2) why would you spend time posting if you arnt going to help.
    3) what is gms

I don’t know what gms is. Dave has a point. How many people really search for funny fail blog?

According Google Ad Word key finder only 480 people searched that term this month globally out of millions. Your site is listed as number 3 for that search term. Since hardly anyone is searching for that, you will hardly get any traffic.

Fail blog phrase gets 550,000 global monthly searches. It would be better to be ranked higher for this search phrase. In the first five pages I can’t find your site.

You also need to analyze where your traffic is coming from. Is it actually coming from google, fourms, or other places?

Keep learning SEO, and working on getting traffic. It is tough out there. Good luck.

    BibleStudies,

Thank you very much. your post was alot of help. I used Google Insight to do my keyword research, what are you using?

Yeah… this is an SEO issue, not a WordPress issue. Are you using analytics to get a good idea of who is coming to your site? or are you using your host’s web stats. You’ll find google analytics a lost more useful in diagnosing traffic issues.

Hi bretrichter, is this a WordPress problem?

When you search for your terms, Failblog.org is ranked #1. Perhaps that is just what people are searching for.

Thanks, I did some tweaking with my SEO, hope it fixes it.
Yes i am using google analytics, and its working great!

    harmck,
failblog.org is not mine. funnyfailblog.com is,
…not sure on the point you are trying to address.

    (@harmck)

I realise it’s not your site, was merely drawing a comparison to the content, keywords, url etc. The point I believe I’m trying to make is your site is extremely similar to that of failblog. So I’m not sure what your point is posting here?

“Just because you build it, it doesn’t mean they will come”.

A high ranking, good SEO and AdWords doesn’t automatically translate into traffic is another point.

Mods, please close, as this is a non-Wordpress issue.

    BibleStudies

    (@biblestudies)

Yes, this is a non-wordpress issue. I’m posting one last time just to answer the question.

I’m using Google AdWords: Keyword Tool

    Google: Google Adwords Keyword Tool
