My site is down, don't know why, please help!!!

    This site is down and I have no idea why. I logged in to wp-login, then I attempted to update 2 plugins at once. When I clicked the update button after checking off the two plugins, the screen went blank. Now I can’t login and the whole website just appears blank.

    So then I re-uploaded all my backed-up wordpress files and still everything is blank. Please help!!!!!!!!

    Have you tried:

    -deactivating all plugins. If the problem goes away, activate them individually to find the culprit?

    If you don’t have access to to your admin area, try deactivating them manually via FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    -switching to the default theme (Twenty Ten) by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes to rule out any theme-specific issue?

    If you don’t have access to your admin area, then access your server via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    We’re not sure what the problem was. But I had to have the hosting company restore a backup up version of the site and it’s all working now.
