First, I’d like to apologize to the moderator who tried to help me yesterday. I was rude and I am sorry.

Last weekend’s fire in Houston affected my server. My site was down Saturday and Sunday and I thought it was down for good. So, I signed up with another host and paid. Well by Monday or Tuesday, my site at old host was up again but it was too late. I’d already paid new host.

I then did a full backup at old host and FTP’d it to new host. The files are all there in new host cPanel. I checked the databases and they seem fine.

The only thing I changed was the password. Same username. Why is my site down – or nearly down? What did I do wrong?

Strangely, one of the subdomains works, namely ceconn.com/say-cheese.
    The other subdomains don’t, namely; ceconn.com/boy-scouts-canada; ceconn.com/what-smells-so-good; ceconn.com/photo_gallery; ceconn.com/can-we-talk.

My main domain, ceconn.com is my business site and therefore the most important one. If you have a look at it, you’ll know what I mean.
    What a mess.

    Is there hope for me?

  • Assuming all the files are correctly installed in public_html/wp-content/themes, and since the login at https://www.ceconn.com/wp-login.php looks okay maybe your wp-content and wp-content/themes folders need 777 permissions.

Permission problems may also be the same issue for what you are calling your sub-domains (actually a sub-domain would be say-cheese.ceconn.com).

See Changing File Permissions and also ocnsider asking your host to check ownership issues with your folders.

    Hi MichaelH,

The permissions are all 777. I sent an email to “support” to check issues.

Could it have something to do with .htaccess or MySQL? The data is there but somehow not connecting.

What else should I check? Should I reinstall WordPress?

You know what I noticed? The theme folder has the themes but they don’t show up on the site.
