  • Hello,

experiencing the same issue. Last working version was 7.0.1.

We apologize for any inconvenience. If you manually update the plugin either from WordPress or using the FTP, does this resolves the error?

Unfortunately it doesn’t, same error after both manual and normal update

I’m experiencing the same problem. I had to deactivate Yoast SEO to keep my site functional. I would like to use Yoast, so I will wait to see if you can find a resolution.

The latest version causes the main pages of my website to disappear. When I am logged in to wordpress, I see the message: “ready to publish your first page – get started here” instead of my page. When I am not logged in, it’s as if the page does not exist. The subpages, the homepage, and one other page still show up.

My theme is Vantage (A site origin theme).

That sounds like a plugin or theme conflict or you are using an outdated version of PHP or WordPress. Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:

    1. Please make sure you are using a supported version of WP and PHP for the Yoast SEO plugin.
    2. Make sure the issue doesn’t persist when Yoast SEO is disabled.
    3. Check for conflicts.
    4. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.

If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

    Hi Michael,

Just reporting back: I updated my PHP from 7.0 to 7.2 and it fixed the problem.

    Thank you!

@asmaalkhair Can you please confirm whether the issue persists while using the PHP 7.2?

I’m using a 7.1 PHP Version but, still wasn’t able to update YOAST plugin. My site still gets 500 http error so have to go back to the Cpanel & replace plugin file by downgrading the version.

Noooo, I use a shared hosting (Bluehost) I didn’t found the 7.2 PHP Version in the Cpanel So, I called Bluehost customer service and they said PHP 7.2 is not a stable version also those who use shared hosting will have to wait until the Bluehost (third-party apps–(CPANEL)–) get updated!

@asmaalkhai We understand if you aren’t able to update to PHP 7.2. Have you already tried perform performing a conflict check? We have additional information on how to check for a conflict here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/

If the issue still persists after performing a conflict check, the next step would be to create a bug report. We’re actively using the bug tracking on our GitHub repository so your best next step would be to create a new issue for our developers at https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new. You will need an account to create a new issue. If this is your first bug report, please check out: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/.

Don’t forget to include the URL to this conversation in your bug report.
