My site does not appear correctly

  • After installing the new version on WordPress 5.8.1 my site does not appear correctly to outside users. I donot know how to fix this and am only guessing that it is due to some install error when I installed the new wordpress.
    I am desperate to solve this problem, and any help would be greatly appreciated. ALso to note – I am not terribly tech savvy, but this has never happened to me before ??

  • Hi @katethebaker! Sorry you’re having problems with your site – do you mind describing what about the site doesn’t appear correctly? When I visit it, I see the following: Screenshot

    Are you referring to the google-site-verification=... at the very top?

    Huh, what you are seeing is correct. I am not, and others have told me they see it differently – I can’t upload a screenshot ??
    I am not seeing any images in the slider, or the three boxes below – it is all text and text boxes. Also my most recent post isn’t showing on my main page – it is Black forest cake.

    Thanks for the explanation! I wonder – do you mind trying a “hard refresh” of your site? You can use this guide if you’re unfamiliar: Hard Refresh a Page and Clear Cache. I’m interested to see if it might be related to your browser’s cache.

    I’d lose the google script for a bit that’s showing at the top of your pages since it’s not working!

    that script may have been added by a plugin
