My site crash when I install nextgen

I really love nextgen, I have used it on some sites but I am working on a site right now that use a theme called Paula – blog and magazine.

When I install the nextgen plugin and aktivate it the site crashes and only show some text from my homepage with a white bagground. When I deaktivate the plugin the site works again.
Do anyone had this problem before and know hove to resolve the problem?
