• First, I am 100% new to this. So forgive me if this is in the wrong place. I set up a page last week, with the intentions of launching it in a few months after I learn everything about WordPress. I had never heard of WordPress until recently.

So I bought the name of the site I want from someone who owned it through godaddy.com. When he transferred it to me, he installed WP 2.9.1. Everyting was working perfectly. Each day, I would read another tutorial here or watch a video on youtube and learn a few more things. I was just a few steps away from feeling comfortable enough to make my first post and get it started.

I have been downloading different themes and seeing how they looked. I did that today, and after I uploaded it to my admin page, the screen went white immediately. I restarted my computer and tried to look at the page without logging in and it was totally white. I followed the link to my admin page in my first email from WP and it is totally white.

What happened? And what do i do now?

so what did you have to do then? kidnap danica patrick?

and came to a screen where i dont know what to do

You need to go into each of those folders until you find the one that contains a wp-content folder. Open it.
Find the themes folder. Open it.
Delete the folder with the same name as the theme you activated.

on the picture I pointed to, which folders are you talking about?

Sometimes my wordpress site goes blank after I modify it. I am not sure how or why this happens, but it lasts for about an hour and then returns back to normal on its own again. I think it has something to do with php usage and my host. I recommend trying not to panic immediately and don’t change anything until you’ve taken a breather.

I have no idea. Only you know where you installed WordPress.

I think i have it figured out.

I think the reason I have been unable to find it is because it is now there now. I searched on GoDaddy HELP and it suggested i go to my databases folder and remove WP from from MYSQL folder. I opened that folder and it is empty.

So I think now if I just reinstall WP i should be fine?

With your Godaddy username & password try to login in :

    https://YourSite.com/cpanel

Then scroll down and click on “file manager” and choose “root” option to enter your wordpress installation folder. then follow this path : public_html/wp-content/themes/YourTheme and delete “YourTheme” folder.

(Removing wp from MysQL is not recommended)

I had the same trouble, but with a widget “about me 3000” spent hours on the phone with go daddy and they cant help either…

    any ideas?
