My Sidebar Menu Disappeared

  • I have had my WordPress blog in operation for over a year now. All of a sudden the sidebar menu has disappeared. This is the menu that lists the categories, various posts on the blog, etc. It also lists the various rooms I have created for my blog. I am using Twenty Eleven theme. How do I get my menu back?

  • There was a recent update to the TwentyEleven theme (with WP4.0). Did you do that update? If so, that was likely the issue, that is some customization was done directly to this parent theme previously and the update overwrote it. Can you verify that is the case? That is are you now at latest version of TwentyEleven theme?

    The side bar menu disappeared a couple of weeks ago. Since then I have activated all the updates. I had resisted any updates because I am a flat out rookie when it comes to WordPress and I didn’t want to risk things changing and not being able to adjust the changes. So, I have the updates but they can’t be the problem as the side bar disappeared first.
