My rss feed subscription link

  • My rss feed subscription link is not working properly on my blog. The subscription by email works (via feedburner), but the rss icon’s in the url browser field and the main one in the header banner of my page do not work properly.

    Details (using worpress 2.7.1).

    In the url field if you click on the rss icon, you get a page load error if you select the first option rss 2.0 which points here:

    https://barrymonteiro.com/feed/. Options for rss .92 and atom do work.

    The main issue is that if someone clicks on the main rss icon or the rss text in my header area of the blog, they get the page load error.

  • try regenerating the permalinks
    admin – settings – permalinks

    Thanks for the reply. How exactly do I regenerate the permalinks?

    I went to the permalinks page and re saved it, but the errors still exists.

    even adding this to your url redirects to the 404 – strange

    try deleting the .htaccess from the wordpress root
    then generate your permalinks again

    I’m not too savvy about code stuff, but I renamed the .htaccess file to something else,
    resaved the permalinks again, and still the same error.

    Any other suggestions I might try.

    I had /%postname%/ in the Custom Structure field in permalinks. Apparently, this was causing the issue? Anyway, if I remove it, the rss feed works fine.

    hmm..that should work in the later versions of wp – I use it on my sites
