• One of my readers recently sent me a screen shot with my editing mode (toolbar) at the top. After looking for help in a bloggers support group on FB, other people who clicked the direct link could see the same thing: the editing mode as if they were logged into my blog! When they tried to click on the top toolbar (as if to gain access to the Dashboard), WordPress prompted them to login. So at least I am hoping that people wouldn’t be able to post or delete anything on my blog. But it’s still freaky. Any advice on what to do and why this happens?

  • This is standard behaviour for WordPress, subscribers can see the admin bar but have no admin rights. You should install a plugin such as user role editor and find the option for hide admin bar. It should just be a checkbox. This will prevent non admins from seeing the toolbar.

I forgot actually I have started using a new plugin on my recent sites:

    Hide Admin Bar From Non-admins

It is a really simple plugin that does what it says on the tin.
