• About 6 days ago I was working on my store and putting links into Pinterest. I went to get the link and the product was gone. So, I worked on another product. The next day I noticed that it looked like one of my categories had a lot less products then it use to.
By two days later my whole store was empty. I had gone to my dashboard before the last day to check to see what happened and found most of my products in the trash. As I was there 6 more products was moved.
I am using storefront theme — Woocommerce — Woozone — Amazon associate
    Questions:
    What caused this?
How do I quickly fix this?
How do I prevent this from happening again?

My store is empty! I am sad and stressed. Been working on this for 4 months now.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Well there isn’t enough info for us to really know what’s happening. But here’s some things I would do:

    1) Run daily backups – make sure the database and your site files are all backed up regularly. Then if bad stuff happens to production, you can restore from backup and get back up and running.

    2) Clone your site to a local development environment – you will use this clone development setup to debug and troubleshoot issues without messing up your live production site. This is also useful for testing plugin, theme, and WordPress core updates.

    3) Use debugging tools like the wp-config.php define( 'WP_DEBUG', true ); and plugins like Query Monitor, Debug Bar, and Health Check to debug your cloned development site to double check that things are working as they should.

    4) Scan your website for malware/hacking – perhaps your site has been hacked.

    5) Check your server logs – perhaps there’s information there that may help explain what’s happening.
