• My podcast feed (using blubrry Powerpress plugin in wordpress) is sending some old blog posts that contain audio and video to iTunes as podcasts.

I only want the latest podcast submitted. It’s a new show. I haven’t publicized it to my readers yet, so that’s good.

Can I ask, how can I remove these posts from the feed, or fix the feed so that it really only pulls podcast shows through?

I thought that was the whole point of the Powerpress plugin. The actual mp3 is being hosted by libsyn just for your information.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I plan to publicize my first show to my readers on Monday.

Before you had PowerPress, you were using the default podcasting features built into WordPress (which is very basic). Every time you created a blog post with a media URL in the content WordPress was automatically converting that into an episode, whether you knew this or not.

    Two ways to fix.

Option 1. Go in and edit each blog post where you linked to media and edit he podcast episode box, and remove the media URL.

Option 2. Change the items per feed in PowerPress setting to say 2 (if you have 2 podcast episodes), that way only the two latest episodes are in your feed. Gradually increase this value as you create mote episodes. Feed will only display the latest X episodes so that prevents the older posts with media from appearing in the feed.
