BTW, It would be good if moderators had a way to note why they deleted reviews.
That would actually not be good.
Here’s why: let’s say you as a plugin author decided to litter your plugin with fake 5 star reviews.
NOTE! I’m not saying that is the case here! I’m just using that scenario as an example. ??
When those reviews are deleted a moderator sends the plugins team a note with the information. The plugins team then contacts the author warning them to not do that.
When that’s the case, there is no need to make that conversation public. It would not help anyone and could end up embarrassing the plugin author. Publicly shaming anyone isn’t useful or productive.
Now, let’s take the case of someone posting spam or abuse. Why would anyone need to be notified about deleting those reviews? There’s no reason. The reviews for a plugin or theme do not belong to the author of the plugin or theme and deleting those reviews does not need a conversation either.
*Drinks more coffee*
As I said above, I can tell you that you should not worry about it. Honest. These are not Famous Bookseller Turned Online Store? reviews. It’s feedback and no one should be replying on those reviews for anything other than feedback.
Some people use them for generating sales leads. That’s a tragic, tragic, TRAGIC mistake. Good reviews are valuable but these are community opensource reviews. and depending on them for sales is unwise.
Which I’m not saying you’re doing, I’m just being overly thorough. ??
