My page disapeared

  • Hi! I updated as recommended to version 4.8 -with resulted in a white screen!.. I could not access my site or control panel -everything was gone.
    Luckily there was a backup at my domain provider -so I got it back with previous version 4.7.5 (I guess) ..
    Now. I’m not very good in tech English and not a computer magician -so now I ask; is 4,8 actually safe to upgrade too??.. should I wait now til a new update comes along?
    I don’t want this to happen again!

  • I’ve been running it since beta on my personal site (production – bad boy!) and its been fine. I’ve installed it on all my sites now and not had any issues.

    I can’t comment on whether it will work perfectly for your setup, but it seems stable enough for me.

    Ok, thanks! -I’ll have another go later on then.. will make sure I have latest backup first ??

    I remembered one thing; I got also an update on my Theme -and clicked both updates at once…. could that maybe been the course for my trouble you think?…

    Maybe. I’m guilty of this too, but try one update at a time.

    It was working, a podcast was put up, and now nothing can be accessed. No WP, no admin page.

    All I get is:

    I’m so sick to death of WP taking everything offline if there is a problem with a plugin, so I can’t even get in to update anything.

    Does anyone know how I can get in an fix this?
