• Since the upgrade to WordPress 6.3, when the reusable blocks were removed and turned into patterns the only way I can find them is to go to the three dots, tools and manage patterns.

If I go to add a block the only patterns showing are the ones provided my the theme (GeneratePress).

How am I supposed to add my own patterns into a page now?

Thanks for any suggestions or advice.

  • First, a bit of clarification on terminology.

Reusable Blocks are now called Synced Patterns.

Non-synced Patterns are just Patterns — the traditional Patterns.

The UI is not intuitive, but I’ve circled the Synced Patterns in the screenshot below. If you don’t have this, then something is not right in your WordPress installation.

That is what I thought it looked like .

I have no my patterns folder within patterns and no icon for a synced patterns section at all. I am using the Generate Press Theme with a child theme. This website is only about a week old.
