Click on an article and scroll down till where it says “about the author”. There should be an avatar there. The only way I can make my photo show up there is by setting it as default avatar, but then commenters have my photo as their avatar, which gets confusing. In the screenshot is shows what happens when I try to upload my photo as my user profile avatar. When I click browse, it shows that my photo is selected, but the two boxes are blank, my mini avatar in the top right corner is blank, and most importantly, in the about the author section it’s blank.

  • You need a Gravatar account.

What are you talking about? I already could set the default avatar for everyone as my photo, why I do I need to get an account for some website to have my own separate avatar. What you’re suggesting makes no sense.

Gravatar stands for Globally Recognized Avatar. It is globally recognized because millions of people and websites use them. Most popular applications like WordPress have built-in support for Gravatar. When a user leaves a comment (with email) on a site that supports Gravatar, it pulls their Globally Recognized Avatar from Gravatar servers. Then that picture is shown next to the comment. This allows each commenter to have their identity through out the world wide web.

What is Gravatar and Why You Should Start Using it Right Away
