On another note, and I say this after attempting the same.
I note your are allowing people other than yourself to register a post entries to your blog. That may work OK for awhile.
But… as your blog gets exposure beyond your close friends and relatives it will invite all sorts of nutjobs, spammers, and various and sundry other “undesireables” to register.
nice, constructive criticism there lazerbud. I actually find your site rather bright, since we’re talking about blinding. I kno wmany feel the need to express gut hatred towards something they don’t like, but at least add something constructive to the discussion
IMO, too much green. That green should be used for accent colors only. Again, that’s just my opinion. Although, it might work if you got rid of the background and that blue accent color used for borders.
I’d use a lighter, softer blue green such as ccffff for the background and imo you also need more contrast from the background for unvisited link text. And on my monitor those link hover highlights are pretty unpleasant against that particular shade of green for the background, another reason to change it. Just my opinion:) but I do like your background image colours.
I think the main problems are not enough contrast and too much glare. A darker blue such as 333366 might be nice for the table border too, or perhaps a purple.
Hi, thanks for your comments — I did change the registration as Marc suggested. As for everyone thinking it’s too bright or ugly or whatever — I was bemused at the negative reaction although I appreciate the interest. The colors are pleasing to me — obviously they aren’t for everyone else and I’m glad to find this out, although on the other hand it doesn’t matter much.
So how can you allow only family members to register? Is there an option to approve registrations without sending them a password for automatic access? In EE (expression engine) I could control this.
Hi, thanks Madie. Natron, so far nobody besides family members have tried to register — although before I changed it to require registration, one stranger did comment. I don’t know of a way to give everyone a password like in expression engine.
