My media library is not working and I cannot upload photos. I get an error saying I don’t have correct permissions.

Could not create the wppa fonts directory. Ask your administrator to give you more rights, or create D:/Hosting/12164303/html/wp-content/uploads/wppa/fonts manually using an FTP program.

Failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2015/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I tried going into GoDaddy, my host, to look at this issue but I can’t figure out the permissions.

Please help! And be very simple when giving directions, thank you…

Try setting the permissions of /wp-content/uploads/ to 777, or get in touch with GoDaddy to make the change for you.

What did they say, and what did they try to do?

I was live chatting with them for two hours with three different representatives. Nobody could figure out what the issue was! So they created a ticket for me and said they’ll get back to me within a few days…

But now when I go into GoDaddy and try to change permissions it just gives me an error, something like “error, directory for permissions not available, OS undefined” or something. And when I tried in Filezilla to change it, I got a 500 error.

    so we’ll see ??

FWIW, we’ve seen quite a few people on GoDaddy with this same problem lately, so hopefully they’ll be able to get it sorted for you.

“OS undefined”?! That’s a rather big server-level problem, or (hopefully) a rather minor hosting panel problem.

I hope they can fix this for you soon!
