my Media Library doesn’t load image thumbnails

    so my Media Library doesn’t load image thumbnails / also when I create a new Post, I am able to upload a new image to the Media Library, but it doesn’t display anything and I get an error.. “this image has an empty alt attribute”, but I don’t think this is the reason why it is not loading ?

    I already did google about this and made sure my permissions are good, but still, the thumbnails or new images to new posts don’t show up, images show fine for existing posts, thanks!

    I run my own server on Ubuntu and latest install of WordPress, thanks!

  • I’m glad it’s been solved. I would still recommend that you consider why the file exists there in the first place. It is not WordPress standard.

    Otherwise, you can also set the topic to solved.

    so another question… I just posted a new Post and the same thing happened, I looked and that .htaccess file was recreated automatically with the wrong settings, so after I delete, something is making it again, what could that be ?

    for now I set it to the right setting, so my image works, thanks!

    As the .htaccess files in WordPress subdirectories are not standard, they must be created by a plugin you use or your hosting. You would first have to check your plugins and if you can’t find one that does this (e.g. a security plugin or an optimization plugin), contact your hosting support.
