My latest post does not show up on home page – does show on recent posts

  • Hi There

    This has happened twice in the last week. I just published a new entry and it shows up at the top of the recent posts list in the sidebar, but it does not show up on the main page.

    I’ve tried deleting it and reposting. Saving it as a draft first and then publishing it.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Does anyone have any thoughts on this, or another thread you can refer me to? I’ve searched the forum and have found similar problems, but not this exact issue.

    If you modified the theme and added a second Loop to display your recent posts… that might interfere with the main Loop of the site.
    You could try:
    a) removing the sidebar code to see if the main Loop works correctly in that case
    b) use another method to display the recent posts

    Thanks for the reply. Would I need to try this debugging if all the other posts are showing up? If it was buggy wouldn’t it affect all the posts? Just checking before I go in and start flailing around in there.

    Well another post is not showing up on the main page (but IS listed in the recent posts in the sidebar). I thought I had a line on the problem when I realized that all the offending posts had blockquotes in them. But when I posted a test entry with blockquotes it showed up just fine on the main page.

    I’m definitely stumped here, so any additional suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    BTW, Moshu. I did take out the recent posts sidebar widget to see if it would make a difference. It did not change. I’ve tried the default wordpress recent posts, and the fuzzy recent posts plugin as well as taking them both out of the sidebar. No dice.

    Hi,

    I just started experiencing this issue after I upgraded to WP 2.1 last week. My latest post shows up in the archives and in the categories listing but not on my homepage. I am using the default permalink structure and I even tried setting the theme to the default WP 2.x theme but that didn’t produce anything different.
