• I just made my website and I installed wordpress, I can get to my admin page of wordpress on my site. However my actual site still shows host gator when you look it up. Ive read through many forums and looked into the problem with the index.html but thats not it. Ive un-installed and re-installed wordpress a dozen times. Anyone have any suggestions for me I can’t seem to figure this out. Thanks in advance = D

  • There may some other name file that is place holder ask your host see if they can tell you the one. Hostgator has live support so they can see your account help you.

I experience also the same and it’s directing mo to the admin log-in page. When I click to the Log-in admin page it shows a finder telling download. Can you please advice for me what is the better action to this. I’m using domain domain.ae.

Is it the Host problem coz every time when i click on fantastico the wordpress visit site it directs me to a finder download.

    Hello TheLoc,

Check your .htaccess file and check for something like this:

    DirectoryIndex Welcome.html
(Where Welcome.html is the filename of the page that is showing up instead of your WordPress installation, varies by host)

Try refreshing your page in your browser, and clear your browser cache if necessary. Usually this is a caching issue.

    Hope this helps!
