My home page disappeared and I am redircted

  • Hello all Gurus!
    My homepage disappeared (I haven’t done recently any change to this site).
    The URL is now redirected to my blog, which was part of the homepage.
    My host is Site-Ground, which promises to back up daily the sites.
    I tried to use an older restore – it doesn’t help.
    I backed up this site and saved it as a zip file in 2020, it worked then (I think).
    I have backups from the database from a free plugin (UpdraftPlus), and I don’t have any idea how to use them or restore them in case that I need to do it.
    Editing: I made a full restore from UltradraftPlus from 15th December 21. It hasn’t helped, the main page is lost.
    I don’t know how to fix it, however, if the zip file I have contains the entire site, can I just overite the files in the active site (everything is active, just the home page is missing).

  • If you want to restore it from the backup, make sure to restore the database too.

    Thanks for replying!
    I could find the DB only on the UltradraftPlus plugin, it was restored.
    However, in principle, the first question is: can I just copy the files from the 2020 copy?
    I don’t think that I have the database from 2020… ??
    I have no idea how it disappeared, without any change from my side.
