I have been having trouble getting the plugin to work for months, but really want to try to address it. It is quite annoying to have the wrong languages in the footer.

My site is in English and Chinese. today I deleted the old English language footer that was not displaying and added a new one. Surprisingly it showed up, but the Chinese version then displayed sitewide. Making any change to either the Chinese or English footer now results in that most recently changed footer being adopted sitewide.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I see how dedicated you guys are to this forum and really appreciate what you have done to make the plugin happen.

    Hello @caeruleus

    Just to confirm:

What version of Elementor are you using?
Are you using Elementor Pro? (I presume you are)

When you created the conditions for the primary language footer, did you set it to site wide?

When you created the secondary language footer did you ignore conditions and just save?

What you could try and do is:

create a temporary new footer in and follow the 2 steps above and see if it works.

@p4fbradjohnson I am using Elementor Version 2.5.16… Have I missed something and need to install Eliminator Pro to make this work?

When you created the conditions for the primary language footer, did you set it to site wide?
The primary language footer is set to sitewide

When you created the secondary language footer did you ignore conditions and just save?
I pressed the plus button to create it and then just saved it as it was.

If you are using elementor to create your footer, then yes it should work. (this would be elementor Pro – a footer is technically a template – this is one of the main reasons for this plugin – to be able to translate Elementor Pro templates)

If you are using the theme header and footers, you would need to consult with the theme support.

If you only clicked the plus button and clicked save, in theory, what is meant to happen is that everything in that template/page is copied into the new “translated” template/page. Which would then need to be translated using Elementor.

So if my site were in EN and PT

Footer EN – Publish – Site Wide
    —Create “translation” using + sign.
    Rename to footer PT.
Edit with Elementor and Translate into PT.
    Click update.

    Then everything should be 100%

I’m guessing at the problem. I am not using Elementor Pro, but I am using Monstroid2 together with regular Elementor that allows me to use header and footer templates.

Could that configuration be the issue?

I am 99% sure that the theme is controlling your headers and footers.

I am an Elementor pro user and use E Pro header and footer templates only.

With that being said, you are welcome to create a temp login for me, you can email to madbradjohnson(at)gmail(.)com

there is a plugin called temporary admin login which does a great job. That way I can confirm if it is in fact the header & footer from the theme.

After investigating, I found that you are using the Jet set of plugins to create your headers and footers. PolyLang Connect is used for Elementor Pro.

I would strongly recommend you contact the Zemez, the plugin devs.
