My favorite

  • Contact Form 7, as it is today, is not intuitive plugin. Unfortunately, this is not for beginners. While it can be with a good explanation. I was a year ago switched to this plugin with Gravity Forms. The reason: the author of the Contact Form 7 plugin gives priority to Plain Text and knows the value of it. I’m a web developer with experience. However, my migrate to this plugin was not painless. After several days of research, reading and studying my form started to work perfectly. And this is my favorite.

    PROS
    – Forcing plain text, not HTML
    – Clean code
    – Nothing unnecessary

    CONS
    – No precise instructions
    – Instructions not easy to understand
    – Instructions are not in one place
    – Instructions are lumped as with a shovel
    – There are no screenshots
    – Screenshot (currently on WordPress) does not mean anything

    How to improve this plugin
    – Make more screenshots (here on WordPress). Images are worth more than words.
    – Create ready-made forms. They can be imported in XML format.
    – Make instructions for quick start. PDF can also.

    This plugin is not bad but can be much better. My rating is 4 out of 5.

    Scroll down on that FAQ page. There are plenty of screenshots and hosting screenshots on WordPress isn’t really something that works. As in not at all, the plugin screenshots really is for samples not documentation.

    Author’s are encouraged to setup such documentation on their own site and this author has done exactly that as the plugin page explains.

    There is nothing brutal. And there should not be anything to moderate.

    I still stand by it, that the author of the plugin has much to improve. That’s all.

    I do respect your opinion. There was nothing brutal and no moderation in my reply. You offered your opinion and I offered mine.

    Moderators in these forums are just volunteers like yourself. We get to reply to topics just like anyone else. Please do not read too much into my forum title.

    My title in these forums is “Volunteer Mod. & Brute Squad” and was given to me by a friend of mine. That title is a joke based on the movie The Princess Bride.
