• I have been trying for probably 3 months to migrate my client’s events, and nothing works. Everything is up to date. I tried everything you suggest: disabling caching plugins, increasing the WP Memory Limit, and using Code Snippet. The debug log is empty even though I have “Full Log” chosen. I’m at a loss.

    Hi @earthnutvt ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Are you referring to migrating to the new event data system (Migrating to the New Event Data System) here? If yes, have you tried enabling WordPress debugging (see How to Enable Debugging in WordPress) to see if there’s anything in the debug log that could potentially point us to the failure?

Apparently it was already on, and there are just thousands of entries that say this:

    Hi @earthnutvt ,

Thank you for your message and the information.

Nothing seems to stand out from the debug log and versions information that you provided.

To help us better understand the situation, could you please share some detailed information about what happens when you start to do the migration? Are there any particular events being flagged?

    Thread Starter earthnutvt

    (@earthnutvt)

It’s just the normal thing that everyone else reports… it starts previewing, and it lists the wrong number of events. Previewing never finishes. Then when I tried all the tricks, adding the code snippet got it to start the migration but that also never finished. I’m not sure if the process usually flags events, but it didn’t do that for me.

    Hi @earthnutvt ,

Thank you for your message and the information.

You mentioned “the wrong number of events” during the preview step. Do you have events that are in draft and/or in trashed state? How many events are currently published on the site? Are there past events?

    Thread Starter earthnutvt

    (@earthnutvt)

No drafts or deleted events. I am suddenly getting this message now. Not sure if it’s related or how to fix it.

Warning: The Events Calendar REST API endpoints are not accessible! This may be due to a server configuration or another plugin blocking access to the REST API.

    Hi @earthnutvt

The REST API warning could be false-positive. In the meantime, could you try re-doing the migration process by following the exact steps below:

Here are the steps to revert and re-do the migration:

    1. Update to the latest versions of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro.
    2. Remove any un-needed draft events and empty the Trash.
    3. Activate only our plugins and use the 2020 theme.
    4. Make sure server-side caching is disabled temporarily while you’re migrating your events.
    5. Install and activate the?Code Snippets?plugin.
    6. Add?this snippet?and run it once (be sure it does not stay activated).
    7. Go to Events > Settings > Upgrades and go through the migration process again.

Please re-do the migration on your staging site first before applying to your live site.

Let me know how it goes.

It’s going to take me a minute because I’ll need to create a copy of the site. I’ve already done 1, 2 and 4 together. This seems like an awful lot of work.
