• Resolved aircard

I’ve just installed wordpress on my server and logged in via the admin page. Now my dashboard isn’t showing properly. I can’t see most of the options like the page, post, appearance and others. When I click on those available, the page loads but it doesn’t show everything. Am using the current 2.92 version.

  • Hi!

    Have you tried different browsers?
    (Firefox, Chrome, IE)
is the result the same in all browsers?

try uploading the contents of the /wp-admin folder again

Still having the same problem. Do I need to remove the previous one and upload the new one?

Yes, try it in this order:

    1. Download a fresh copy of WordPress.

    2. Delete /wp-admin/ from your server.

    3. Upload a new copy of /wp-admin/ from the freshly downloaded WordPress.

If that doesn’t work, follow JamesBB’s suggestion and find out if the problem occurs in other browsers.

Im having a similar problem, and tried all youve suggested. Different browsers, IE and Firefox shows the same.

This has happened twice in the past 6 months.
The blog seems to be fine, its the admin area (dashboard) that gets scrambled.

For example, to make a post, only the HTML option is available, I cant switch over to the graphic option to make posts.

All the options are down the left hand side, and only text, not the normal drop-down java look.

The middle (graphic-drag into position interface) isnt there, its also on the left hand side too.

The top header in the dashboard, is only gray.

I am using 2.9.2 version, uninstalled it to try to fix it, and reinstalled it, but it did not fix it.

I dont know how else to describe it, but cant make posts like this, need help please.

The basic site is fine, its just the admin area thats hosed.

    thanks

p.s. I dont know if this is related, or if my site was hacked, but everytime I go to log in to make a post from the admin login page, my virus checker shows a popup, blocking this domain and ip address.

which shows in the status bar at the bottom, is this address any clue that Ive been hacked?

then as I go to each page in the blog admin area, the address keeps popping up from my virus checker.
Dont know if its related, just wanted to cover all areas.

    Thanks

That happened to me also. Was a hach attack. Try restoring your files from an older Linux image.

Brrr!!! Don’t like this kind of code displaying…
By the way as I regularly surf to get the latest tips/news or ideas concerning security, I found a site with quite a few interesting info gathered on the subject:
    https://wpsecure.org/

    Hope this helps ??

Thanks all to the many good suggestions.

I have gone to each of them and bookmarked them to have for a guide
    in my efforts.

Just wanted to say thanks for the quick response. Will let you know
the outcome and offer what I found for others.

It didn’t work. I had to uninstall it and re-install in in a sub-folder.
