Hi, I am hoping to find someone who can help. Apparently my Hostgator cPanel was hacked, or something. All my files are gone, and I now get this message when I try to access my sites.

    Index of /
Apache Server at (website name) port 80

This is the same for my 3 websites, what can I do? I asked for help from Hostgator support, but they gave me nothing.

I am not looking to restore the sites, as I have no backups, but I thought I would redirect my domain names to somewhere else instead.

However, when I changed my name-servers, in GoDaddy, and tried the redirect, I am still getting the same message, how is that possible?

Thank you in advance for your help.

  • First, are your databases gone? Your posts, pages and comments are in your databases.

Doesn’t Hostgator have usable backups to restore your sites?

Where did you try to redirect to? Can you give us one of your URLs and where you wanted to send it.

Yes, everything is wiped clean, Hostgator support checked also and said everything was gone.

I asked them to restore my sites, and they said they did not have usable backups for my sites.

When I tried the redirect, GoDaddy confirmed that it was working/successful. I did however just change the name-servers from Hostgator’s to GoDaddy’s. Maybe they will need more time to reflect the change?

This is the one I did the direct for already. https://www.howtoplaykeyboardonline.com/ As you can see, the error is still there.

I am trying to redirect/forward it to here: https://ruthmartin.typepad.com/

Nameserves can take up to 72 hours to resolve, so you need to be patient.

Ok, thank you for your help, yes, it was the name-servers being changed that still needed to be fully completed. It is now working!
