My Comments Are Gone!

    All of the comments are missing from my blog. When I go to “Manage Comments”, no results are found.

    When I look at the blog itself, the postings all list the correct number of comments, but when you click to see them, they are missing.

    I installed reCAPTCHA and Akismet last night, and they seemed to be working fine this morning. But this evening, my comments went missing.

    I assume the comments are still there somewhere, since the correct number of comments are listed on each post.

    Can anyone tell me how to get them back?

    Where can I go to check my database?

    go to your host CP,and lick the databasde manage, then find out and go to your wordpress database.

    I went into the phpMyAdmin window and chose “wp_comments” from the sidebar. It says that the table is marked as crashed and should be repaired. Can someone guide me toward how to do that?

    I figured it out. My comments are all back now.

    I logged in to my account at BlueHost.

    I clicked on phpMyAdmin (under Databases).

    I clicked on “Databases”.

    I clicked on the name of the database for my blog.

    I checked the box next to “wp_comments”.

    I chose “Repair Table” from the pull-down menu at the bottom.

    It repaired the table and my comments returned.
