my comment box is missing

    I dont know what i’ve done to kill the comment box for my entries, because i’ve been fiddling with the theme a bit (comments were working not TOO long ago). Even comments that people left before the comments went missing are not viewable.

  • Possible reasons:
    missing comments.php file (although WP would use the default one)
    missing call for the comments.php template (in single or index)

    I just found the reason – a plugin killed my comments for some reason. I had just installed a plugin called WPCandy which could add a chunk of text (i was using it to drop an adsense ad between 2 posts). Deactivated it and comments came back to life.
