• I’m running a windows server 2008 dedicated server, I use plesk 9.2.1 to create mysql databases and manage it with phpmyadmin.

Randomly, today, my categories disappeared. They don’t show up on the site and they don’t show up in the admin. I added one of them back and it seemed like it was cool but then when I left the categories admin page it wasn’t an option in the new post page. I go back to the categories page and its not there. I try to add it again and I get an error saying there is already a category named that but I can’t see it anywhere!

It gets weirder. I created a new blog with a fresh install completely in a new directory with a new mysql database. I get the same problem trying to add categories to it!

please help, anyone, this is a pretty big site’s blog.

  • Hi Seefresh, a link to your site would be helpful, also you don’t mention any posts, are they showing up in categories. good luck.

The posts are showing up on the homepage but not in categories. Here is a link to my site, I’ve turned off my custom theme and reverted it to an older, default wp theme while I debug so it looks pretty rough at the moment: https://www.smh.com/blog

Well, I fixed it. I have an InnoDB so I can’t repair tables. I just now went to services and restarted the mysql server and voila. Working.

Just came back to check how it was going, well done on fixing problem.
interesting site, best wishes to Sarasota, love the city.
