My Blog Won’t Publish Posts

    Yesterday, I was trying to post an article with an image (something I’ve done hundreds of times with WordPress), and it wouldn’t publish. Once I clicked “publish”, I would watch the “wheel” spin for up to five minutes before I’d receive a blank page.

    At first, I thought something had gone bugging in my old version (2.0) of WP. So I updated it, and experienced the same problem. At one point, I wondered if I was experiencing server errors because I did get 500 messages late last night.

    This morning, I’m getting no server error messages, but I’m still not able to post. Have any of you experienced anything like this?

    No. I spent a good 30 minutes with my webhost trying to resolve the issue. He was able to post an image an a few words. When I try to post an article, it hangs up and won’t publish at all.

    Thanks for that link. My host uses the Unix system, which has always gotten along well with WordPress until now. I tried turning off the ping function, but that didn’t work either.

    Running mod_security on that host? Perhaps there’s something in your article that’s tripping it up.

    Anything in the web server’s error logs?

    I’ll have to look into the mod_security and see if that’s the issue. There’s no real explanation on the error logs, except to say that there was an error.

    Update: It was the mod_security that fouled things up. Thank you, Handy Solo.
