My blog is suddenly down!!

  • Hi.

    I have my wordpress blog hosted on an external server and not on wordpress.com, and since yesterday it is down.
    There is no problem with the DNS servers, I have not made the least change in my settings but it’s down.
    My hosting seems to be fine, but the blog is down…

    Can you suggest anything?

  • You have to go back to the day or hours before your “blog went down”
    – Can you access wp-admin at all? like, https://yoursitedomain.com/wp-admin
    – Did you just activate or upload plugin before this happened? Delete the plugin in FTP.
    – Did you just upgrade your WP installation?
    – Did you check server error logs?
    – Is your host running? “My hosting seems to be fine” … “seems” is not good enough, double-check this

    Contact your web host. They will be able to tell you if there is a problem with the server or database.

    Wp-admin does not work either.
    I have not changed anything concerning my plugins (neither uploaded nor activated new plugins) for the last two weeks.
    I did not upgrade my WP installation.

    Also, how about a URL and what do you mean by “down”? That could mean a lot of things. What kind of errors are you getting?

    Your error log is only showing files that don’t exist and none have anything to do with WP. What happens when you go to your site? What the URL?

    EDIT: by errors I don’t mean your error log, I mean what errors are there when you try to access your WP site?

    If I google the url I still get results with the blog’s content.

    You need to have a look at your error logs. It’s a “blank white page” which means something – most likely in a plugin or in the functions.php file (since your admin is affected) is off. You have error-reporting turned off, so the only way you’re actually gonna see where the error lies is by looking at your logs. (and no – I’m not talking about *that* log that you listed up there – that’s something else. You should be able to log into your server via FTP, and there’s probably a folder thats’ called “logs” – in there will be the error log you need to look at.)
