• Since I started using WordPress for my ProPhoto blog, I have had issues installing new updates. I keep getting errors telling me the upload of the new software failed. I am hosting with Bludomain, which I know can cause issues. I tried surfing the web for workarounds and nothing was working.

Last Thursday, I backed up my blog (I downloaded the content to my laptop and also did another backup online using Fantastico) and tried again. No joy. Now I cannot log into my admin page and am having issues getting everything back up and running again. I have spent hours trying to load it back in using CyberDuck following the instructions, the last message I got was this:

    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

I have tried looking around on the forum but can see nothing similar to my particular issue.

Please can someone help me get my blog back?

    Thanks,

    Joe

fyi… this is my blog URL.

    https://www.joesphoto.com/blog/

Looks like you do not have index.php file in blog folder as I can see the index of all files and folders.
upload index.php file as soon as possible in blog folder.

Have you tried creating a new database and user, syncing them, and then replacing that where the old information was in Wp-config.php?

    Hi govpatel,

I just tried that and am now getting this error message:

    Error establishing a database connection

    Zybrite,

I have tried doing that but this is where I am at right now.

    Thanks

Are you sure you’re accessing the database correctly? Some hosts have funky setups.

I see you have a website in root and has blog is that wordpress blog as I see that it is in a subdomain name.

check see what settings you have for database in that blog may be that will help or ask your host if there is something you have wrong in Connection settings.
