My appearance customize menu disappears

  • I just downloaded the latest 4.1 version of WordPress and now I can’t make any changes to the appearance of the site.

    When I move my mouse onto the Dashboard and click “appearance”, then click customize, it goes to the page that should allow me to make changes to the header, footer, fonts, colours, etc. But the menu on the left hand side appears for maybe 2 seconds and disappears. And I can’t make it surface again.

    I didn’t have these kinds of problems before I upgraded to 4.1. I have disabled all my plugins and allowed third party cookies. I have done a search for this problem but I can’t find anyone else who has the same problem.

  • Have you tried switching to the default Twenty Fifteen theme?

    Thank you Matthew. I can make changes to the 20-15 version. But I still can’t make changes to the original theme I was using, Vizio. I was able to make changes to Vizio before I upgraded to 4.1. How can I make changes in Vizio? I like their layout much better.

    If you use a commercial theme or plugin and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations. Doing this will provide the developer with the income they need to make WordPress awesome.

    Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.

    yes its best to contact their support. its a premium theme so you should be able to get support.

    I have this problem too under Enfold (latest+WP 4.11) Still happens when all plugs turned off. Any ideas?

    I can trace the same problem back to updating to WP 4.1.1 Even if I deactivate and then DELETE the pluggins (all of them) and switch to the default 2015, I STILL can’t make the widgets work and I still can’t use the customizer.

    It doesnt matter which theme its still dead. For the record, and to save you the bother, PHPmy admin table repair did nothing to improve matters either.
