• Hi everyone, I woke up this morning and find that my Admin panel is using Open Sans Condensed font and it looks awful, I don’t remember to use that font anywhere in my site so I don’t know what is going on. I tried to find the CSS that is applying the font but I didn’t have luck, with the inspect tool I found that is coming from a file called load-styles.php and it says is Open Sans, not Open Sans Condensed, I didn’t found any reference to that font there (I don’t know anything of PHP) or in any other CSS file.

I’m using Multisite and my themes are Genesis Framework and Genesis Sample Child, my site is in maintenance mode since I’m working on it’s design.

Also, I’m using Chrome and Windows 8.1

    Thanks in advance!

Try a few basic troubleshooting steps:
    – Clear your browser’s cookies and all cache.
    – Try deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the unedited default, core-bundled Theme (such as Twenty Fourteen) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue.
    – if that does not work, try different browser.

Ok, thanks for your time, I’ll try with that!

It seems it’s a Chrome bug, I noticed that the same font is displayed on several sites I visited (not in other browsers). My version was updated to the 37 beta and some users reported similar bugs with fonts.

Same thing happened to me today except I’m using open sans as my website font in addition to it being the wordpress admin font. Site was fine on 9-8 and now, 9-9 it is not. This looks to be pc specific based on the version of chrome but I don’t want my site to change looks for some users every time a Chrome update comes out. I’m guessing Chrome updated itself when I restarted it last night. I had like 30 tabs open and it may have crashed and installed an update… I will probably avoid open sans from now on. Good job Chrome.

Still using open sans… ?? It’s a great font for web projects. Lato is nice as well if you are looking for an alternate clean sans-serif typeface.
